My life is wildly beautiful. Filled with art, music, deep connected sex, creativity, vibrant friendships and magical healing practices. But it wasn’t always like this.

There’s so much about my childhood that I love, like being free to ride motorbikes, fall out of trees and catch fish, but a lot happened that left me super messed up. I had a bumpy start as a small town farm girl with a devastating molestation when I was 3 and a whole slew of nasty nasty nasty experiences.

In university I fell apart physically and emotionally. My digestion was so bad that my doctor said he wanted to remove 4-6 inches of my colon. I was drinking Jack Daniels straight from the bottle between my classes. I really had no idea how my drinking and digesting were not compatible! I would eat to the point of bursting and then exercise so much I’d collapse. I didn’t know that was a kind of bulimia. I had no sense of value for my body or sexuality. I didn’t even know what sexual pleasure was.

I was 23.

There’s so much more grit to this story, but I’m sure you get the picture. Somehow I went from farm girl to international bellydance artist living like a rockstar in 5* hotels while studying healing and meditation, to now a rich Witchy Coach living like a queen!

I credit my genius or rather … my Genie.

The root of the words genie and genius is djinn. This is the Arabic word for what is today often called “dangerous spirits” by the current flavor of anti-feminine life principle that is in all major religions.

Djinn is what I understand to be Kundalini. And yes She is dangerous! I refer to Her as She, but this energy is waaaaaay beyond gender.

Kundalini is energy and more. This is serpentine intelligent energy that animates all life with genius and this includes us as women. But with humans, She animates us within the confines of our conditioning, that for many of us is outdated and not serving our most passionate and creative lives.

When She awakens, your life will be changed. I’ve seen it thousands of times with my students.

They walk taller. They leave shitty relationships. They get better jobs. They have an outlet for their sexual expression that is wildly creative and not limited to a few minutes between the sheets. But then their time between the sheets is also so much better than before!

What awakened my genius? Bellydance.

Bellydance opened me up with delicious sensual and bold movement. Bellydance shook up the bottle of old stuck me and my Genie popped out. I’ve been in my Genie’s fiercely loving hands since then.

You have to understand. I was a zombie before bellydance. I could barely talk to a single person let alone perform in front of hundreds or do the kind of public speaking I do now. I was, what I’ve often called, numb, glum and sorta dumb. Sounds mean I know and I honor my past self who so courageously managed to survive, but I was just so terribly dull compared to the richness I embody now.

Bellydance with its sensual movements woke up my body, which surprise! Woke up my feelings. My feelings were trapped in my heavily guarded and super defensive body. Fortunately I had already started training in emotional release and knew how to welcome shame, anger, doubt, grief and very quickly, unbounded pleasure. The combo of dance plus freeing old stuck emotions propelled me so far out of the box, no one recognized me!

This was only the beginning! My intuition lit up and I was able to not just think my way through life, but feel my way. Flow state is how this is commonly referred to. My sexual pleasure bloomed! I went from being dead down there… to being blessed with whole body, undulating, healing orgasms. Mystical visions, magical experiences and literal water into wine miracles shook the old me free to be awakened by desires, not just run of the mill desires, but lit up and on fire world changing and paradigm busting DESIRES! Djinn – genie – genius – kundalini magicked me into the woman I am now.

Getting into the body and allowing feelings a safe place to release is called Embodiment. Most of us are not raised in a culture of embodiment nor are we taught how our emotions are the canaries in the coal mine of our deeper desires or how to transform strong emotions into rocket fuel for life.
